About Me
Welcome to my personal blog. I'm Mark Barnes and I have been into computing for 28 years now. My early forays into programming in Z80 assembly language seem so distant now I can hardly believe how far technology has progressed.
Since 2001, I have been extremely interested in agile development practises and was an avid follower of ObjectMentor, XP and AgileModeling. For the past 11 years I have seen many of the agile practises mature into methodologies but have been struck by the lack of true agile on the ground. Agile is now a corporate buzzword which is almost synonymous with a get out of jail free card.
I have spent the majority of the last 11 years introducing agile techniques into large and small development teams.
I love the agile culture, but at all times I remain pragmatic in its application... There are no silver bullets
